It's impossible to sum up more than 15 years in a few paragraphs.  Jumpin' Monterey Jack, better known as Monty was my best buddy, my first dog.  We shared the same birthday and countless happy memories.  When I was a child I wasn't allowed to have a dog so I spent my whole childhood waiting for him- now I will spend the rest of my life missing him.  Before I got Monty an ex-boyfriend told me getting a dog won't change my life.  He was completely wrong.

Monty introduced me to countless new friends and activities.  I met my future husband in Monty's puppy class.  Monty and I did it all and he excelled at everything we tried.  Agility, dog-sledding, Frisbee, herding, freestyle, dockdiving, hiking in the woods, biking and of course our favourite sport- flyball.

Monty was obsessed about so many things.  Tennis balls, the flyball box, stuffed dollies , swimming, squirrels, tug toys, the Cuz and weave poles- he'd actually wine in front of the weave poles and wait for me to tell him to weave.  When he was a puppy he loved to destroy my mother's expensive decorative pillows and house plants- he was so naughty!

Monty was very musical.  We preferred 90s pop and whenever a favourite song was played he'd sing along- always with a ball in his mouth.  Electric can openers, the printer, clicking metal salad tongs, the words GET IT, CAT or SQUIRREL or even a big sneeze would set him off.  He'd scream like Tarzan, grab a tennis ball and race around- he would go crazy!!  No dog was as nutty as Monty and I was crazy about him!!

Monty was so smart.  He taught himself to drop a tennis ball on the moving treadmill.  The ball would fly across the room and he'd race after it.  Even when Monty couldn't stand up easily he still played ball.  He would lie down on the floor and we would roll the ball towards his mouth.  He even knew how to roll the ball back to us with his tongue- it was a very clever trick.  Until the end of his life Monty loved to play ball, tug and suck on his beloved dollies.

Monty adored our two children and when I asked them who is your favourite dog they would reply Monty.  When the children played in the basement or backyard Monty always went with them.  He'd play with his tennis ball and watch over them.

Musical "Mad" Monty earned 64,890 NAFA flyball points.  Monty earned his last flyball point just before his 14th birthday. In his first tournament he earned three titles and 636 points.

Monty is the very proud 2007 recipient of Paw's On Fire's "Grand Old Flyball Dog Award".  The award is given each year in honour of Joy Brunton's dog Chime.

Monty is loved always and forever by Ally & Scott Kolesnikow and Kenzie & Levi.

Monty's DOB was July 8, 1995.

Monty's best time was 4.5.  Since that was many years ago, we can't remember the jump height.  Monty ran in any position, for any handler.
