DogZworth's "Big O" NAFA Flyball Tournament- Nov 29-30, 2008

Click here for Big O clothing information

The AGM: DogZworth is pleased to announce that the 2008 NAFA AGM will be held at this event!  The AGM dinner will be held at Moe's Bar & Grill 3950 Sherbrooke Street East.  We will be eating in their private upper level and ordering from the restaurant's regular menu.  The minimum per person price is $25 so everyone should keep this in mind when they place their orders. Over 100 people have already reserved their spot at dinner.  If you haven't reserved your spot there is room for a few more upstairs but you must reserve (e-mail Ally).  Or you can have a drink with us and then eat in the downstairs dining room.  The food and atmosphere is excellent!

Friday drop off and "Meet & Greet": The Big O will be open on Friday.  Set up of your crating area is available and highly recommended!  On Friday you may drive to the crating area to unload (use the Marathon entrance on Sherbrook- directions will be included in the welcome letter).  While you are there remember to stop by our complimentary food & drink table.

About the tournament:   Help us celebrate the one year anniversary of Region 20- one of NAFA's newest regions- by racing at this awesome event!  Where is Region 20?  Region 20 includes the province of Quebec and ON (east of Peterbourgh).  This tournament will be held at Canada's largest pet show (called the SNAC).  1000s of spectators will be there cheering us on!  This pet show also features an AAC agility, a frisbee trial, obedience, UKC conformation, plenty of vendors and cat agility!  Bring the kids!  Our son loved the on-site bouncing castle!!!  There are also pony rides and at the 2007 event there was a climbing wall.

More about the tournament: This is an "all-frills" event featuring beautiful awards, special awards and surprise souvenirs!  Let me know if you have a dog available for an Open or Veterans team.  We're offering plenty of regular, multi, open and veterans racing!  New for 2008: our ring will be relocated near the Big O's "blue seating section"!  Our new location would provide enough seating for 1000s of people and give us even more exposure!  We have enough space for 2 rings (70 x 135)- THIS IS AN UNLIMTED EVENT! Since this event is so special we have decided to lower the entry fees to $130 ($50 for veterans).  The lower fee is our gift to you.

On site photographer: We are very pleased to announce that Len Silvester of TTL Action Photo will be coming from London, ON to photograph the event!  The lighting is great in the Big O so it's a super opportunity to get some excellent photos of our dogs racing!

Read their testimonials- competitors raved about last year's event!  I've been playing flyball for approx 10 years and I've never experienced a crowd like this before! They really got into it- at some points the cheering was almost deafening!  It was the best tournament I've attended!  But of course, I'm biased.  Read what others have to say about the 2007 event!

Click here to watch our promotional video!  Keep in mind we have a lot more space this year- the crowds will be further away.

About the site: You will be racing in Montreal's "Big O" (the Olympic Stadium).  This tournament features 70 feet of matted run off- Tuff Spun over concrete plus an additional 9 feet of concrete floor.  Indoor crating is available for all dogs.  There is plenty of grass outside for the dogs to "potty" on.  The public will not be granted access to our crating area.

Where to stay (camping): Limited RV camping with no hook up is available at the stadium.  Please e-mail us to reserve your spot- the cost is $30 plus tax per night (no services).  Use the "Marthon" entrance (on Sherbrooke).  If there is no snow or if the snow isn't deep, Camping Parc RV Champlain will be open.  It is located in Brossard, QC (approx 20 minutes from the Big O).  For reservations call them at 450-676-5267.

Where to stay (hotels): Both hotels DO NOT allow dogs but they are making an exception for our event.  Please keep this in mind and ensure that your dogs are model guests while you are there.  Don't leave them unattended- we want to use these hotels again in the future.

I have booked a block of rooms at the Auberge Universel. It's across the street from the Olympic Stadium. The teams that stayed there for the 2007 event really enjoyed their stay!  Check out their web site: http://www.auberge-universel.com/  Don't forget your bathing suits! They have an indoor pool!  Rooms are limited so make your reservation as soon as possible.  The number is 1-800-567-0223.  Tell them you're booking under the "DogZworth Flyball" block.  All our rooms are 2 double beds.  The cost for all the group reservation rooms is $107 plus tax (for 2 people).  This rate includes breakfast.

There is a second block of rooms booked at the Auberge Royal Versailles.  It is approx 10 minutes away from the Big O.  Their number is 888-832-1416.  Tell them you're booking under the "DogZworth" block.  All our rooms are 2 double beds.  The cost is $92.  This rate does not include breakfast but breakfast is available. Check out their web site: http://www.royalversailles.com

A third block of rooms has been reserved at the Quality Hotel Olympic Park Hotel. It's $100 per night plus tax. For our event they waived the $25 pet cleaning fee! These are non-smoking rooms.  Normally pets are not allowed in the non-smoking rooms but they waived that rule for us too.  There is a restaurant in the hotel. Please book before Oct 31: call 514-493-6363 or 1-800-267-3837.  The block of rooms is reserved under the name "DogZworth".  Or you can use this reservation code- 103100.  The address is 8100 Neuville Avenue in Anjou.  The postal code is H1J 2T2.  It's approx 7-8 minutes from the Big O.

Where to eat: We recommend Madison's Grill (5222 Sherbrooke Street East), Moe's (3950 Sherbrooke Street East) or eat at the hotel. There is a Tim Hortons nearby. Other restaurants will be added.

How to enter: Mail your entry to: 254 Ballantyne Ave North, Montreal West QC, H4X 2C2.  Please make cheques payable to DogZworth.  An entry form is available here.
