DogZworth's "Big O"
NAFA Flyball Tournament
Seeding
:: Schedule
About the
tournament: Help us celebrate the creation of a new NAFA region
by racing at this inaugural event! It is the first "in region"
Region 20 tournament and the first ever flyball tournament in Quebec
so DogZworth is working hard to make this event extra special!
Where is Region 20? Region 20 includes the province of Quebec
and ON (east of Peterbourgh). This tournament will be held at
a very large pet show (called the
SNAC).
1000s of spectators will be there cheering us on! This pet
show also features an AAC agility, a frisbee trial, obedience, UKC
conformation, plenty of vendors and cat agility! Bring the
kids- I hear there's an on-site bouncing castle and pony rides.
NAFA Supervising Judge Carl Dingee will be judging the event so this
is an excellent opportunity for novice and apprentice judge. Awards will be
presented. We're offering plenty of racing- our limit is 13 Regular
teams and 6 Open. Let me
know if you have a dog available for an Open team.
About the
site: You will be racing in Montreal's "Big O" (the
Olympic Stadium).
This tournament features 70 feet of matted run off- Tuff Spun over
concrete. Indoor crating is available for all dogs.
There is plenty of grass outside for the dogs to "potty" on- the
door is very close by. The public will not be granted access
to our crating area. Friday evening set up of your crating
area is available and highly recommended! On Friday you may
drive to the crating area to unload.
On site
photographer: We are pleased to announce that
Natalie
Heath will be there photographing the event! I hear the
lighting is great in the Big O so it's a super opportunity to get
some excellent photos of our dogs racing!
Where to
stay (camping): Limited RV camping with no hook up is available at
the stadium. Please e-mail
us to reserve your spot. If there is no snow or if the
snow isn't deep,
Camping Parc RV Champlain will be open. It is located in
Brossard, QC (approx 20 minutes from the Big O). For
reservations call them at 450-676-5267.
Where to
stay (hotels): I booked a block of rooms at the
Auberge Universal.
It's across the street from the Olympic Stadium. I have never stayed
there before and I don't remember seeing it but it looks like a very
high end place! Check out their web site:
http://www.auberge-universel.com/
Normally this hotel doesn't allow pets in their rooms but for the
pet show they have made an exception. Please keep this in mind and
ensure that your dogs are model guests while you are there! Please
don't leave them unattended- we want to use this hotel again in the
future.
Our group rate is $105 plus tax (per night). This includes breakfast
and parking is free. The best rate available on their web site is
$129 so our deal is pretty good. Ask for the "DogZworth Block".
Since it's an unusual name for a block of rooms you might want to
say it's for the pet show at the Olympic Stadium. In case you need
it the reservation confirmation number is 87103. The dates are
Friday Nov 23 and Saturday Nov 24- let
me know if you need a room
for additional nights. Our block has 20 rooms.
Don't forget your bathing suits! They have an indoor pool! For
reservations call 514-253-3365 or toll free 1-800-567-0223
A second block of rooms has been reserved at
the Quality Hotel Olympic Park Hotel. It's $99 per night plus
tax. That includes a $25 pet cleaning fee. These are smoking rooms
(pets are not allowed in the non-smoking rooms). You can get a
better rate on line ($91 plus tax) but that's a non-refundable room
rate and it does not include the pet cleaning fee.
Here's the contact information and address.
Please book before Oct 23: call 514-493-6363 or 1-800-267-3837.
The block of rooms is reserved under the name "DogZworth". Or
you can use this reservation code- 102626. The address is 8100
Neuville Avenue in Anjou. The postal code is H1J 2T2.
